I will add more pics in Photobucket. . . .

I have so many pictures I have decided that it would be best to add them through photo bucket. I have finally had a slow day to update my blog. There will be more pictures to come as I just remembered Anna downloaded pics onto my flashdrive. You will need to go down past the trek pictures to see the rest of our Alabama pics. Enjoy!

Headed to Center Star

Pictures along the way, some familiar, others are just for memories of the landscape. I loved crepe myrtle's--epecially the deep red and lavendar colored crepe myrtle's. I noticed there were alot more deep red than I remembered when we lived in Madison. I think the soil makes a big difference.

On the road

We were on the road headed to Alabama - I love and have missed all the green, Tennessee landscape and the cudzu in both states.

For those from the Alabama area these next pictures would be familiar - just outside of Athens. I really wanted to stop at the chocolate store, however we needed to get home so we could go with Anna and Joshua to Mututal.

Parking at the airport

As you look at these next pics you will see the parking lot, cars, Alphabetized post. Also that we were first in the E2 section - "Oh theres the car in F2." We went for a little 10 minute walk as Anna kind of forgot where we parked. It was very funny! Something her mother would do :) I have always said I needed an antenna on my car with a flag. When I pushed the button for the car to beep at me the flag could wave to me as well indicated the direction I needed to head.

EA at the airport

I haven't seen EA since Christmas. As parents we want whats best for our children. Can I say that at times in my life I could see where the Advesaries plan would be easier--however, we would be so miserable. Taking away our children's agency is not the plan of happiness. Allowing children to learn from their errors and in hopes that they will turn to you for parental guidance, knowing that you have taught them like all the rest in your family. Then it is the hope of all hopes that they will remember what you have been teaching them, even return to what you have been teaching for the past years from youth to their "Now" time. I love each of my children and now have a more significant appreciation for what our Heavenly Father feels for all of His children who have been , will be, and are on this earth.
Words cannot describe how much I have missed my Alabama children. I was disappointed that I had to say goodby to EA in the airport, yet knowing that he would be back home when I returned home was gratifying. I worried if DH was up to the task of being Mr. Mom while I was gone. Anna is always so happy, fun to be around, makes me feel like I have succeeded in my teaching and serving her as a mother.

Well we said hello to EA and goodbye as AR and EA met us at the Nashville Airport. EA-- as I mentioned earlier, went out to Utah. All in all it has been a blessing in many ways. One wonders, however I cannot forget who is in charge ultimately! We are a family of 8.

AR had picked us up at the Nashville Airport. The fun had begun. . . I would go back in a heartbeat! It was so beautiful and green. I have really missed all of this and especially AR, UA, EA, and my kindred spirit friends.

Miss Amanda Baptism

Miss Amanda Baptism
Miss Amanda Baptism and some family members. You will notice Benjamin is not present. He went with Roger's family so he could show them how to get to our church as the Baptism was at the Stake Center. Unfortunatley I left the camera home after the baptism and before going to the our ward building and so I did not get everyone who came to Amanda's baptism and ate after.

email sent about Amanda's baptism

Just thought I would share this wonderful day with you. Amanda was baptized on March 1st in our Stake building. Amanda's baptism was wonderful. We opened with the song: "Come Follow Me". Benjamin gave the opening prayer. We then had all the younger children sing "When I am Baptized" and I signed the chorus. Anna (Amanda's sister) gave the baptismal talk. It was very good and closed with her testimony. She asked Amanda several questions, however Amanda being put on the spot she couldn't remember anything she had been taught over the last 6 months. She talked about John the Baptist baptizing Jesus, why Christ wanted to be baptized. She then talked about how Alma and all the people he baptized at the Waters of Mormon and the covenant they would make. She referred to D&C 18:42 which tells us that all men should be baptized. She asked her why she hadn't been baptized yet. (She actually remembered). Because she was not 8 then Anna referred to the scripture in the Doctrine and Covenants that children are accountable at the age of 8. Anna then bore her testimony--It was so sweet to hear her express her love to her little sister and her love for the Savior and how proud she is our her. She was then baptized by her daddy (Roger). Witnesses were her grandfathers Grandpa Jim Wilkinson and Grandpa Win Tillman. We watched the video presentation "Finding Faith in Christ" after which Christopher gave the Holy Ghost talk. His, of course, was also excellent. He did an object lesson with a chapstick. He took off the cap and showed how the Holy Ghost can touch peoples lives, and how when you put the cap on the Holy Ghost is with you. If you leave the cap off you dry up. So we need to make sure that we live our lives so we have the Holy Ghost with us always and not dry up. We want to always have the influence of the Holy Ghost. She was then Confirmed a member of the church by Roger. Our Bishop welcomed her, and asked her to look over the audience of all those who love her and have come today. He then had her recite what her baptismal covenant was which she made today which is found in the Sacramental prayer. He asked her how she can remember what her covenants are and what the Lord promises. She was so cute up there. Closing song was "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" (I just love this song)My mother led the music and Roger's sister Marlene played the piano.Closing prayer was given by Grandpa Tillman What a wonderful spirit that was there during her baptism. Derek is the only one left. We had family come over to our ward building and we had lunch. It is so different to have a lot of family there and remember to invite them all and not miss anyone.

Christmas at Temple Square and This is the Place celebrating Joshua's b-day

We picked Anna Richelle and Joshua up Dec 21st.
You can ask Anthony-if it was freezing cold at This is the Place. The pictures pretty much tell all.

Does it look cold to you - Never! There was just a couple of feet of snow.

We went to "This is the Place" and froze to death as we waited on the train to take us around the village. Having lived in Alabama for so long we have forgotten how to dress warm. Look at Anthony he was so ready to go home and be warm. Poor baby:(

This picture made it all worth the freezing. We headed here just before leaving this wonderful winderland of cold. We also thought we had lost Tyler--he seems to get busy looking around and forgets to make sure he is with the right group of people.
