Peter Pan Peanut Butter

Josh and I love Crunchy Peter Pan Peanut Butter. When we got on WIC, we were happy to find out that they didn't care what brand of peanut butter we chose it just had to be 18oz. A couple of weeks ago I went to the store to use one of our WIC checks. When I got to the peanut butter aisle, I saw only Peter Pan jars with yellow lids. I assumed it was all creamy since the peanut butter companies usually color code the lids for creamy and crunchy, and Peter Pan's crunchy peanut butter has a red lid. I went back today and realized that it wasn't all creamy. They changed the packaging. So now all the lids are yellow and you better make sure you read the label to make sure you're getting what you want!
I was so excited that they had crunchy that I grabbed a jar to go check out. When I got to checkout though, the computer said that it wasn't a WIC item. She called some young guy over who said that it had to be creamy peanut butter. Josh and I would never buy creamy and never had so I knew that wasn't the reason. I told him that I always got crunchy and never had any problems. He insisted it had to be creamy. Then he said it had to be Great Value brand. I have nothing against Great Value since it comes from the same place, but Josh and I always by Peter Pan unless it is unavailable. So I also knew that this wasn't true. I told him that we always got Peter Pan, and he insisted that it had to be Great Value brand. I whipped out my handy-dandy WIC "brochure" which shows that my peanut butter can be any brand as long as it is 18oz.
That is where we noticed that the jar I had grabbed was only 16.3oz. Apparently the new jar design provides less room for its delicious peanut butter. I was so disappointed. He asked if I would like him to go grab a jar of Great Value. I said sure. So I waited for him to return the Peter Pan jar and return with the extremely generic-looking Great Value jar. When he returned I noticed the red lid on the Great Value jar which unlike Peter Pan is the color code for creamy. This made me very angry that he would deprive me of crunchy peanut butter because he thought WIC wouldn't cover it. What like crunchy is less healthy than creamy??? However... there was already another person behind me who had put her things on the counter and as soon as the peanut butter was scanned I would be all done. Also the baby was starting to get fussy since it was almost time to eat, AND I had to pee so bad that it outweighed the importance of being crunchy which is really saying something.
So now I have a jar of creamy peanut butter that I have to use... I am very upset with Peter Pan for shrinking their jars.... I still love them though.

Miss Amanda Baptism

Miss Amanda Baptism
Miss Amanda Baptism and some family members. You will notice Benjamin is not present. He went with Roger's family so he could show them how to get to our church as the Baptism was at the Stake Center. Unfortunatley I left the camera home after the baptism and before going to the our ward building and so I did not get everyone who came to Amanda's baptism and ate after.

email sent about Amanda's baptism

Just thought I would share this wonderful day with you. Amanda was baptized on March 1st in our Stake building. Amanda's baptism was wonderful. We opened with the song: "Come Follow Me". Benjamin gave the opening prayer. We then had all the younger children sing "When I am Baptized" and I signed the chorus. Anna (Amanda's sister) gave the baptismal talk. It was very good and closed with her testimony. She asked Amanda several questions, however Amanda being put on the spot she couldn't remember anything she had been taught over the last 6 months. She talked about John the Baptist baptizing Jesus, why Christ wanted to be baptized. She then talked about how Alma and all the people he baptized at the Waters of Mormon and the covenant they would make. She referred to D&C 18:42 which tells us that all men should be baptized. She asked her why she hadn't been baptized yet. (She actually remembered). Because she was not 8 then Anna referred to the scripture in the Doctrine and Covenants that children are accountable at the age of 8. Anna then bore her testimony--It was so sweet to hear her express her love to her little sister and her love for the Savior and how proud she is our her. She was then baptized by her daddy (Roger). Witnesses were her grandfathers Grandpa Jim Wilkinson and Grandpa Win Tillman. We watched the video presentation "Finding Faith in Christ" after which Christopher gave the Holy Ghost talk. His, of course, was also excellent. He did an object lesson with a chapstick. He took off the cap and showed how the Holy Ghost can touch peoples lives, and how when you put the cap on the Holy Ghost is with you. If you leave the cap off you dry up. So we need to make sure that we live our lives so we have the Holy Ghost with us always and not dry up. We want to always have the influence of the Holy Ghost. She was then Confirmed a member of the church by Roger. Our Bishop welcomed her, and asked her to look over the audience of all those who love her and have come today. He then had her recite what her baptismal covenant was which she made today which is found in the Sacramental prayer. He asked her how she can remember what her covenants are and what the Lord promises. She was so cute up there. Closing song was "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" (I just love this song)My mother led the music and Roger's sister Marlene played the piano.Closing prayer was given by Grandpa Tillman What a wonderful spirit that was there during her baptism. Derek is the only one left. We had family come over to our ward building and we had lunch. It is so different to have a lot of family there and remember to invite them all and not miss anyone.

This picture made it all worth the freezing. We headed here just before leaving this wonderful winderland of cold. We also thought we had lost Tyler--he seems to get busy looking around and forgets to make sure he is with the right group of people.
